t-shirt quilt

Well this is truly a recycled quilt...so green of me, huh? Not only did I use a bunch of old t-shirts but I also used an old sheet/bedspread that I made for our bed a few years ago but has sat in the closet now for over a year. This definitely wasn't my best work and I didn't put a lot of effort into it but it serves it's purpose. So now I thought I would take you down memory lane... This is the camp that Jason worked at for a few summers during highschool/college and then he did a music gig one summer when Ethan was a baby...that was Ethan's first camp experience.

Jason worked in Student Development and he was MIA from our family every August from the years of 00-04. Busy times but lots of fun.

We've held many a retreat with the youth group and the kids from Trinity school at this camp. A little get-away in the mountains here in Hawaii.

Jason and I were RD's for a couple of years right after we got married. Lots of memories...some good and some not so good. But a huge part of our sanctification. This shirt still makes me laugh...and I realize is not funny to anyone else though.

While we were RD's, the other third of the job was devoted to Intramurals. I miss playing intramurals.
A couple of days before our wedding we went to Dave and Busters with all our friends and wedding party that was in town for the big event. Everyone pooled all their tickets together to buy us this shirt...we have great friends don't we?

Jason and I bought this shirt on our honeymoon in Prince Edward Island. The idea behind the t-shirt was a cool one (dyed in the mud of PEI) but the color wasn't. I actually don't ever remember wearing this t-shirt.

A year or so after we were married Jason and I went on a cruise to the Caribbean. We got these great deals for $160 a person and had fun laying on the beaches in the middle of January...with our pasty-white skin. Many great stories of sea sickness, great "free" food, our first and last time in a casino, almost dying on a moped (a little exaggeration), getting in trouble for talking and taking pictures while we were doing our boat sinking drill, spending the day snorkeling and hiking on our ships own private island and paying $15 for a taxi and traveling less than a mile. Ah, fun times!

Love it. I was actually going to do one as well and have my t-shirts out already to start cutting them apart. I was also going to make one for the boys of their little clothes that I want to remember. Thanks for sharing.
